Stephen (Steve) P. Hanson

Steve began his career at the pivotal moment when the private equity and venture capital asset classes were becoming institutionalized. That formative experience established the foundation for Steve’s nearly 30 years of experience serving as a trusted counselor and strategic advisor to private companies, private equity funds, venture capital funds, corporate venture teams, and management teams. 

Steve’s experience spans a variety of industries, with an emphasis across consumer-related sectors, including sports, media and entertainment, food packaging, restaurants, discount grocery chains, insurance, and specialty chemicals companies that help create the everyday products consumers use. 

Steve serves as outside general counsel to a major US sports league, advising the league in connection with expansion plans, team sales, stadium financings, and other team- and owner-related matters. This role has positioned him at the forefront of the rapidly evolving intersection of private equity and professional sports.
